Beautrip, Product From Mastercard Hackathon Singapore
Last 2 weeks, me and my friend muhar participated on Master Card Hackathon Singapore. Hackathon itself placed in 237.io coworking space, the place itself located exactly in front of Sri Mariamman Temple
Theme of this hackathon is Empower Woman Using Technology and your hackathon product must use one of mastercard api and use simplify commerce. And our product idea is Beautrip, our product focused on as a place to all woman find backpacker friend and find package trip. Our model is based on how to make the woman feel safe on backpacking and how to make them get the safety.
Beautrip is actually using Simplify Commerce Api and Money Transfer API. First there is 2 actor in this product : Trip Creator and Trip Participant. In Trip Creator we divide 2 type of trip creator : Trip Creator Professional which is a expert or EO will take care of everything when do the backpacking, so you just like pay and enjoy but with low cost and backpacking environment and Trip Create Individiual which is a people just need find friends to do the backpacking and cost will be share to all participant.
We use the simpify commerce api when people want to create the trip or package trip and the cost of this will be $0.99 per people and every trip must be set limit of participant of backpacking. Why we are charge the “Trip Creator Professional” ? thats one of the judge ask to us because its not make a sense for her. Before answer the question, i need to explain how the participant join the event, they can choose an event and to pay the event we are using money send api so the participant pay directly to the EO not to us, how much they pay : TOTAL_COST_BY_EO + 10 % of Total Cost if more than 1000$ + 0.99$. How to confirmation for participant to join this trip, we are confused how to make the confirmation logic algorithm. But we come the Three Way Handsake concept :
- Participant Send Money to Join the event (request num)
- EO will accept the the participant (request num + ack ing)
- Participant will confirmation to participate (ack ing)
Yeah thats why we charge to create the trip, because we need to do synchronization Credit Card Number when we create trip and money send to minimize the fraud and sync the cc. And once again we are build this business concept in one night so there will be much thing to improve and proven business concept.
Thats our product and unfortunately we are not able to win this competition because other teams have great percentation. Not all idea is can wow me but there an idea is not think of use The Breakup Service. We have seen many dating apps but is there any web that give a service especially for woman when they are breakup. Why woman ? because based on study women need more time to heal than men they also not win this competition because the winner is “Code school for women”. I think this is general idea, the different is people pay this code school is for the charity not for the profit and i think the key factor for them to win this competition is by doing great presentation. I must admit all of the finalist are doing great in presentation.
